Veronica is responsible for building an Innovative Organisation and driving Safaricom’s Innovation agenda. She has over 12 years’ experience in Telecommunications with a background in Innovation, Product Development, Project Management, Marketing and IT. She has held Senior Manager – Group Products and Innovation Manager roles in various organisations including Bharti Airtel International Group (Nairobi), Zain Group (Bahrain) and Celtel International B.V. Group (Netherlands) where her responsibility spanned at anytime between 17- 24 markets both in Africa and the Middle East. She holds Diploma in IT (IMIS formerly IDPM), a BSc. Information Sciences (IT) and an MBA from the University of Nairobi. She is married with 2 children. She has a passion for helping the youth achieve their full potential by empowering them in business and technology.
Dr. Rutenberg is the Director of the Center for Intellectual Property and Information Technology Law (CIPIT) at Strathmore Law School in Nairobi, Kenya. The goal of CIPIT is to help Kenyans understand, acquire, and effectively use intellectual property locally and internationally. Via CIPIT and individually, Dr. Rutenberg has authored articles for a variety of publications and spoken at numerous conferences in Kenya, primarily focusing on practical aspects of intellectual property (IP). He continuously advocates for Kenyan organizations and individuals to expand their use of worldwide IP systems. Dr. Rutenberg received dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Chemistry and Mathematics/Computer Science from the Colorado School of Mines, as well as a PhD in Chemistry from the California Institute of Technology. His graduate research advisor, Robert H. Grubbs, was awarded the 2005 Nobel Prize in Chemistry. Dr. Rutenberg also obtained a JD from Santa Clara University School of Law in May 2011. He is registered to practice law in California, and is also registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
Bikundo Onyari is a corporate trainer with over ten years of experience providing outstanding programmes for hundreds of leaders locally and internationally. With extensive experience creating training programmes, Bikundo has delivered workshops which include Leadership, Coaching & Mentoring, Corporate Staffing, Team Development, Presentation Skills, Change Management, Organisational Transformation, Strategic Thinking, Group Visioning, Proposal Writing & Development, Team Development and Communication Skills. Philip Nyamwaya is the co-founder of iPay Ltd (www.ipayafrica.com), a Kenyan-based payments processing services provider. iPay Ltd is able to process payments from Mobile Money (M-PESA, Airtel Money, yuCash) Mobile Banking (Elma), local Bank Debit Cards (Kenswitch) and VISA and Mastercard credit cards as well. He has over 10 years’ experience in the field of Information Technology systems development, Mobile money, mobile banking and card payments systems integration, marketing and business development as well. Robert Njathika has over five years’ experience working for the government, non-governmental organisations and academia. As the Program Associate Manager for African Union Cyber Security Convention Project at Strathmore Law School’s Centre for Intellectual Property and Informational Technology Law, CIPIT he get to assist the team in its objectives of petitioning the African Union to put forth a convention which has input from ICT stakeholders in Kenya. This has enabled him to identify, reach out and connect with IT stakeholders in Kenya and also get a chance to represent the centre at the African Union Headquarters in Addis Ababa during the African ICT Week held in December 2013. The project has been in existence from October 2013.
Robert is also the editor of NairobiNow blog. NairobiNow is a popular arts and culture events listings site with a weekly newsletter which serves over two thousand five hundred subscribers. He has been running this project from 2010 and out of this he has consulted and facilitated for institutions such as the British Council – Nairobi and the GoDown Arts Centre while operating from the iHub.
He has previously interned and worked for the Ministry of Agriculture, Central Planning and Project Monitoring Unit from 2009 to 2011.
Robert holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science major and Economics minor from the University of Nairobi and has a CPA qualification from Strathmore.
Stephen works as an adjunct faculty member in Entrepreneurial Finance at Strathmore Business School. He has been teaching finance and entrepreneurship related courses for the past 7 years.
Stephen is also a co-founder and director at Viktoria Solutions a company that trains, coaches and consults for early stage companies in East Africa in all matters of the start-up’s early years especially as regards to financing. Through ViKtoria solutions Stephen has trained over 300 entrepreneurs in various aspects of entrepreneurship and helped raise finance for several companies. Stephen sits on the advisory board of several startups and of Demo Africa, Africa’s premier Startup launch competition. He has been involved as a judge in Demo Africa, Pivot East and several other startups competitions at local universities and incubators.
His past work experience is in the finance and legal fields where he was the head of research and analysis in STANLIB East Africa and worked as a junior associate at AF Gross and Company Advocates respectively.
His education background consists of an MBA from Vlerick Business School in Belgium (2011) an undergraduate degree in Law and several professional courses in Finance and Accounting. In 2013 he attended two training modules at IESE business school on Entrepreneurial Finance and Effective Teaching at executive levels.

My participation at times has included sitting on the evaluation panel for those companies that have been accepted into the incubation program Providing mentorship for start-ups that request such assistance, this has been provided both to companies that have joined the incubator as well as those that did not.
Douglas is an entrepreneur passionate about building communities and ventures within East Africa and across the Pan-African entrepreneurship ecosystem.

Peter is a mobile programming lecturer at Strathmore University’s @iLabAfrica. He has taught and worked with a lot of students within Strathmore and outside and has mentored most of them. He has helped his students turn their class projects into startups and build a business out of it. As a researcher he has a keen interest in Internet of Things, Industrial Internet, Big Data and emerging technologies. He spends most of his time learning more in this new technologies and seeing how they can be used in our local markets.

Lamusia is a strategy and investment consultant with several years of professional and academic exposure within the Asia-Pacific and African markets. He has experience in growth and investment strategy development and execution across various sectors including FMCG, logistics, financial services and real estate. Lamusia has completed Level II of the CFA® Program and holds a BBA (HKUST Business School). He is a Director at Synthesis Advisory and Edge Wealth Management among others. Linda is one of Kenya’s young serial techprenuers thriving to make money while bringing social change. In 2010 she co-founded MFarm Ltd, an agribusiness intelligence and social platform where farmers and buyers make decisions, share knowledge and transact. Through this, M-Farm introduces efficiency and profitability by providing; up-to-date market information, current agri- trends, advisory services and aggregate farmers sales needs and match them to buyers.

Hilda is the Founder and former CEO of Weza Tele Ltd, a leading mobile service provider startup in the Fintech space that was acquired in 2015 for more than $1.5M. Hilda has more than 5 years diverse experience in entrepreneurship and developing and scaling startups and innovations across East Africa. Prior to Weza Tele, Hilda spent 5 years in the private sector working for global multi nationals the likes of Coca-Cola where she was in charge of managing innovations in the supply and distribution value chain. Hilda was also part of the founding team of iHub Research where she led the research strategy across East and West Africa. In the past, she has incredulously won various awards and fellowship programs globally e.g. Indiafrica and Oxford. In 2015 she was also featured as one of the top 40 under 40 women by Business Daily. She also has an MSc in entrepreneurship and Degree in Business Information Technology from Strathmore University.

Collins is the Information Technology Manager at @iLabAfrica, Strathmore University.Collins has considerable experience in the provisioning of information systems consultancy to different organizations. He is an experienced penetration tester, information security & controls expert and information technology governance expert.
His professional experience portfolio comprises of conceptualization, design, deployment, audit, governance and assurance related work. Collins has conducted extensive training in Cyber Security to industry practitioners in broad professions including banking and telecommunication while at Strathmore University.
John’s role at @iBizAfrica is training and coaching on Financial Modelling. He believes that businesses at any stage require good financial models to enable them make informed decisions – to test the impact of different scenarios on their profitability, and viability even, and to test sensitivity of the business to various variables. He teaches business practitioners how to develop these models and to apply them in decision making.
Apart from working with @iBizAfrica, he is a full time lecturer of Strathmore University’s Actuarial Science degree program where he teaches Actuarial Modelling amongst other subjects. He also holds Undergraduate and Master’s degrees in Actuarial Science and spent two years working in actuarial consulting prior to joining Strathmore.
